Olivia is a student in the TAU International MA Program for Environmental Studies. She holds a BS in Public Health and Chemistry from New York University and is currently conducting research for her master's thesis at the Water Research Center. Olivia's research concerns industrial contamination of the transboundary Hebron stream in the West Bank and Israel, with a focus on the heavy metal chromium. Through fieldwork and application of major concepts from environmental chemistry, she aims to characterize the presence and fate of this industrial contaminant in the stream. She hopes the research will contribute to the existing dialogue around this local transboundary issue and ultimately help to motivate progress toward a collaborative water management solution for the Hebron-Besor watershed.
